Ancient Cannon Fortifications of Mount Lon & Cau Da

Built by the French colonial administration in the late 19th century, this coastal defense battlefield was constructed to dominate the maritime entrance into Ganh Rai Bay and the shipping channel to Saigon. Perched along the crest of Mount Lon and Cau Da, huge coastal artillery guns weighing dozens of tons rest on massive cast-iron turntables, interconnected by subterranean ammo bunkers and trenches, making it a compelling historic site with grand naval bay views.
