Tour Overview
Do you believe that the true flavor of a thousand-year-old city does not lie in those gorgeous restaurants, but is hidden deep in the alleys with smoke curling up, on the grills sizzling beside the sidewalks, and in the aromatic coffee cups on the street corners? Hanoi Every dish here tells a story, and every flavor carries a layer of cultural accumulation. Please join us on this unique taste exploration journey, where you can not only taste, but also deeply understand the culinary soul of the capital, while exploring the famous scenic spots in Gyeonggi.
We don’t start the day with a hot bowl of pho, but with a gust of breeze and silence. The first stop is Tran Quoc Temple, the oldest temple in Thang Long Ancient City, located on a green peninsula in the middle of the vast West Lake. The gentle ringing of temple bells, the lingering smell of incense and the solemn Buddhist architecture will calm your mind and prepare you for a touching journey. It’s the perfect setting for picturesque shots, with the ancient bell tower reflected in the sparkling lake.
After the quiet atmosphere, we will look for a family-herited pho restaurant hidden in an alley. We'll start our taste journey with a steaming bowl of beef pho. It’s no accident that this is considered the quintessence of Vietnamese cuisine. The essence lies in the clear, sweet soup base made from beef bones that has been simmered for hours, blended with the aroma of cinnamon, star anise and roasted ginger. Soft rice noodles paired with tender slices of beef or tender cuts of stewed meat will warm your body and soul and set the perfect foundation for the dishes to follow.
After eating, we will take a walk to digest together, around Hoan Kiem Lake >The green heart of Hanoi. We will walk across the brightly colored Qi Xu Bridge leading to Ngoc Son Temple and listen to the legend about Emperor Le Loi returning the Divine Sword to the Golden Turtle. The lively atmosphere, people taking photos in motion, and shady ancient trees will allow you to see the rich and diverse pace of life of the capital’s citizens in the heart of the heritage area.
Not far from Hoan Kiem Lake, in a crowded alley, there is a famous Luosi rice noodle shop. Let’s challenge our taste buds with a bowl of colorful snail rice noodles. This is an explosive combination between the refreshing and sour soup made from tomatoes and taro stalks, and the delicious and sweet taste of crispy meat-stuffed field snails. Coupled with the aroma of vanilla, perilla and the rich smell of shrimp paste, it creates a complex, refreshing and unique taste experience in Hanoi.
Stepping into the bustling Thirty-Six Ancient Street District, we will find a time-honored barbecue rice noodle shop and taste this dish that has conquered the world: barbecue rice noodles. The aroma of charcoal fire is fragrant, and the golden and juicy barbecued meatballs and barbecued slices are dipped in the bowl of sweet and sour fish sauce, served with a plate of green raw vegetables and thin rice noodles. Sitting on a low plastic stool and observing the vibrant rhythm of life in the old quarter, you will fully feel the soul of Hanoi’s street food.
The journey will end perfectly at the corner of an old café on Church Street or at a sweet soup stall. You'll taste the delicious contrast of the famous egg coffee's velvety sweet custard over rich black coffee. Alternatively, you can opt for a cold bowl of sweet soup to enjoy in front of a view of the ancient Hanoi Cathedral. This is a moment to calm down and savor, watch the street scene, and feel the slow and nostalgic rhythm of Hanoi.
This day's journey is not only a food journey, but also a diverse symphony of history, culture and flavor. From the tranquility of the oldest temples to the legends of the historical lakeside, from the boiling life in the ancient streets to the rich flavors hidden deep in the alleys, all this will give you a comprehensive and profound perspective on Hanoi. Let us guide you through this moving journey.
